The LTS math program is extremely proud of the school’s mathletes. Middle school math teacher Patrick Fleming remarks, “first and foremost, the students willingly put in extra time and effort to improve their problem-solving skills. The fact that our middle school of 41 students was able to place in the top ten while competing with schools 20 times our size is a testament to the quality of student and the K – 8 math program that we have here at Lake Tahoe School.”
The Math League Contests (www.mathleague.com) are designed to build student interest and confidence in mathematics through solving worthwhile problems. Over one million students around the world participate in Math League Contests each year. Every contest has questions from different areas of mathematics, suitable for the grade level indicated.
