Led by a group of hard-working and determined 8th-grade boys, the Bobcat Nordic Ski team lead capped off the season with a third-place finish at the 2018 CNISSF State Championships at Auburn Ski Club in Truckee, CA.
Despite missing two of their fastest racers due to injuries, the Bobcat team stepped up their skiing and got some record performances from many of their younger skiers.
For the girls, Kylie Reeth finished the regular season in 45th place, while Laney Lowden cracked the top twenty in the 14th spot.
The boy’s team finished third overall upon completion of the regular season, with four skiers place in the top thirty in a field of just over one hundred skiers at State Championships. Trey Casini placed 6th, Nicholas Patrick 10th, Harrison Fung 27th and Zachary Wallpe 29th.
“As coaches we would not be more proud of our hard our skiers worked this season,” said Coaches Jon Cooper, Ben Storrud, and Nicholas Dearnley.
“It was amazing to see all of our Nordic Bobcats ski their best at the most important race. For a small school to finish in the top three at state championships is a true testament to all of our skier’s toughness and determination.”
