Nationally-recognized author, Washington Post columnist, licensed school counselor, and coveted speaker, Phyllis Fagell, LCPC, shared her research, perspective and 20 years of experience to the Lake Tahoe School community, including students and parents, during her day-long visit to the school in December 2019.

Phyllis met with the entire middle school and encouraged students to make good friend choices and get help solving problems.

More than 35 parents, faculty & LTS community members attended her parents-only Q&A session where she encouraged parents to set reasonable guidelines for social media platforms and monitor those platforms; ask children if they are being their best selves, and provide children with a safe network of fellow parents whom they can trust.

The Lake Tahoe School Speaker’s Series highlights relevant topics which enhance the lives of students through social emotional learning, and provides parents, guardians, friends and families with insight and perspective about how to manage the ever-changing home-life-school dynamic.
