Student council co-advisor Kris Nugent remarks, “A big thank you to all the middle school and 5th grade students that ran for election this year. It is a testament to our wonderful school culture of giving and community service that so many students want to serve on our student council.”
Throughout the school year, our LTS student council will pursue opportunities to promote school spirit with fun-themed spirit days, help our community by hosting the annual ‘Giving Tree’ in partnership with Tahoe Family Solutions, and with the yard sale in the spring. Also, they will be organizing and hosting LTS events such as, movie and movement nights and Cookie Grams on Valentines Day.
8th grade student and student council president Ivy Batmale is excited for the year ahead, “Student council is a great opportunity for students to be active in our school community. We hold fundraisers to raise money to support different organizations through our annual giving tree, yard sale, and dances. Student Council provides long-term leadership skills to all of the members. I am very proud to be the Student Council President of this amazing school and community”.
Our student council is ready for another great year filled with ways to serve our students, our school, and our community.
